Album Pages[]

Archive of Album Page discussion:

Also, I’ve been thinking of adding album pages for a while (only for albums that have 2 or more songs in-game), do you think it’s a good idea ? -Noname

Very much so, probably not a big priority though. -Llyair

Permission Scenario[]

Would like to discuss permission info on page for this type of scenario:

  • Artist B was featured on Artist A's song.
  • Artist A gave blanket permission. Artist B's permission is unknown.

A two-tiered question here: is this legally enough permission to keep the song in-game? Or, what's our policy on this? (I'm guessing we require permissions from both A and B)?

In the case that just A's permission is enough, then what permissions should we put on Artist B's page (none)?

I don't think we ever need the permission from featured artists. They are similar to session musicians or band members, but credited clearly, because of their notoriety. By comparison, we don't need the permission from all members of a band to get that band permission. Some feats are samples that the musician has used, for example, we don't need permission from the vocaloid singers from Cinnamon Roll.

In your example above, even if Artist B said no but Artist A gave blanket permission, the song would be safe to use. It would be irrespectful for Artist B, but they couldn't do much (IMO, I would prefer avoid that situation haha).

In the end, we can ask this question : has the featured artist agreed to hand over their rights to the main artist for the release of the song ? If so, we only need the main artist permission. That's why a collaboration or vs battle thing is different.

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation! This gives me some insight as to where the permission originates, and maybe how to word the info on some pages :)

Activity feed deprecated[]

Main page activity feed is broken, apparently the

<activityfeed />

tag has been deprecated after the migration to UCP.

  • Need to possibly find a workaround - found this:
    {{Special:RecentChanges/10}}
  • Or delete the feed from main page?? Might have to replace it with something else (news again?) so page doesn't look too empty.
