Due to historical and geographical reasons Spanish Folk music is widely diverse. All regions have very distinctive local styles, in addition to local variations of styles spread around Spain. These local styles are commonly interrelated between one region to the other. For instance, Sevillanas are derived from "seguidillas" from Castilla (Castile). "Jota" is the most important form of Aragonese folk music, but it has very popular local variants in almost every region (Jota Valenciana, Catalana, Navarra…).[1]
