The 10th Official FFR Tournament is an official event started in early October 2014. It succeeded the 9th Official FFR Tournament.

Announcement[]

The tournament was announced on April 18th, 2014 without any official date scheduled at the time. A statement made by staff member TC_Halogen predicted the tournament would take place sometime during the summer.[2] "Files are still being pulled for the tournament; a general rule of thumb: most Official Tournaments typically do not happen until after a Hard Songs Batch has been run and files have been cleared for acceptance. (Hint: it likely will be the next batch in line.)" [3]

Non-profit Fundraiser[]

In anticipation for the start of the tournament, event organizers set up a fundraiser to help raise donations towards providing prizes for the future tournament participants.[4][5] In the first 24 hours, event organizers received massive support from the community[6][7] and by less than 3 days after the start of the fundraiser there was no remaining "All Skill" tokens.[8] The fundraiser was open from April 18th to April 25th and amassed in total $2,158.25 US for 107 donations ($19.95 US per donation). The total cash prize for the tournament is $1,250 US.[2]

Donation incentives were as followed:

  • For $5 or more: a choice of any 1 support token;
  • For $9 or more: a choice of any 2 support tokens;
  • For $10 or more: a 1.75" brass "All Skill" token
  • For $12 or more: a choice of any 3 support tokens;
  • For $20 or more: a 1.75" brass "All Skill" token, a custom forum user title and a choice of any 3 support tokens.

Support tokens[]

Three new support tokens were added: Touhou Judgment in the Sixtieth Year, Bedtime Story and The Bridgeport Run. Players could also choose from the old support tokens, such as Dendrite v2. The new support tokens will eventually be given sets of unlock requirements and may be distributed in future events.

Custom forum user title[]

Users who sent a donation of 20$ or more were given the possibility of using html tags (color and/or italics only) in their forum user titles. A limit of 50 characters (250 counting However, it is a one-time change which is permanent until the user change its title again. On April 24th, donors began to receive their new customized user titles.

"All Skill" token[]

The "All-Skill" token[9]

For a $10 donation or $20 or more donation, donors could receive a physical 1.75 inch (4.5 cm) diameter, 1/10" (3 mm) thick token. They are made of solid brass with a "polished gold" finish and were creating using a double-sided mold to feature both enamel designs on each sides. The tokens were designed by PrawnSkunk, along with a friend of his who designs military challenge coins.[10] A total of 100 tokens were created[11], but only 90 were available as prizes (the remaining 10 are kept for future events). On April 25th, the tokens were shipped.[12]
